Why isn't Christmas on the Brevard County, Fl School District calendar?

I saw the controversy a week or two ago wherein some Muslims complained that Christmas was listed on some school board's annual calendar and they wanted their holidays added. So I went and checked our local school board's calendar and Christmas isn't there either - and hasn't been for years, or so I'm told.

Are you telling me we can't even acknowledge our official state and federal holidays anymore? Are you guys okay with that?

Oklahoma was the last state to make Christmas an official state holiday in 1907. Of course, Alaska and Hawaii didn't become states until the late 1950s but as territories they had already made Christmas an official holiday even before 1907. Congress made Christmas an official federal holiday in 1870.

For my entire 12 years of public education up through 1976 we were always out of school for the "Christmas Holiday," not a winter break or a "holiday for all."

There really is something wrong with the PC belief that we have to scrub our calendars, offices and government institutions of all references to our state and federal "Christmas Holiday" in order to be inclusive...isn't that pretty exclusive and discriminatory of Christians as well as our American history, traditions, heritage and culture. If "being inclusive" means denying who and what we are then I want no part of it.

And including Christmas would not mean we have to include religious holidays from other religions and Associate Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story told us why in 1833:

No, Lincoln did not free the slaves by "Executive Order"

Last week President Obama announced an (illegal) executive order dealing with illegal immigrants and the left is now trying to use several false equivalencies to claim conservatives are either hypocrites or racists, or both, for objecting.

One false meme being spread by the left is that presidents Reagan and Bush-41 did the same thing. They did not. For a full explanation you can checkout this article at Powerline.  

Another false meme now being pushed by the liars on the political is that President Lincoln freed the slaves with an executive order - his Emancipation Proclamation - but he did not. President Lincoln "freed" the slaves in the rebellious states, sort of, but not in other states that were not in rebellion. There is a pretty good article about it here, and here is an excerpt from that article:

Rather, it “freed” any slave in the Confederate states (that’s right—it did not apply to states in the Union in which slavery remained legal) who could manage to flee her or his plantation and make their way behind liberating Union lines.

So, when it comes to radical American leftists trying to justify Obama's unconstitutional executive amnesty for illegal aliens, we're all being "grubered." Well, the "stupid American voters" and "useful idiots" are being grubered - the rest of us know the truth.

My State of the Union Address

My State of the Union Address - if I was ever in a position to give one:

Ladies and Gentlemen, the state of our union is precarious economically, socially and with respect to liberty;

We have an artificial economy far too long propped up by government fiat dollars and never allowed to recover; far too much central planning by a committee of over 500 men and women in Congress with disparate interests;

The fabric of American society is threadbare with little to no respect for the fundamental building blocks of all Western Civilization - the most basic beliefs that have historically built and maintained strong and great societies -

The American people are less free and enjoying less Liberty today than at any time in our national history including the colonial period under the reign of King George III.
Freedom can be a difficult and dangerous proposition wherein some will succeed beyond their wildest dreams, some will make it very comfortably, some will struggle daily and eke out a living and others will fail and fall through the cracks but there is simply no acceptable alternatives to freedom - none.
